April Showers-umbrella

Happy Monday!  Our BBTB2 challenge this week to use an umbrella on a project, because April showers bring May flowers, right?  We have some showers forecast this week in my neck of the woods (in fact there were thunderstorms last night), so I'm definitely keeping my umbrella handy!  I bought a girly polka dotted umbrella for me this year to keep mine from mysteriously disappearing (into the boys' backpacks…none of them would be brave enough to rock the polka dots at school, LOL!

I had fun putting together this layout of springy goodness, complete with the sunny side and the rainy side.  All the cuts are from the Artistry cartridge, although I jazzed up the sun with a center circle and cut some extra bows for the kite.  If you click on the layout, you can see the details better-it's raining heart stickers in the corner!  Go see the cute design team projects over at BBTB2 and you can create an umbrella project with one of the many cricut umbrella cuts to link up this week.

You're Tweet layout

Happy Monday!  I hope you are enjoying all things spring!  My enjoyment is somewhat tempered by the explosion of pollen….I am remaining fully medicated with what seems like an entire pharmacy of allergy meds.  But it sure is nice to be able to wear only a light jacket in the morning and a tee shirt by afternoon!

So on to our BBTB2 challenge this week-the theme is birds and there are so many to choose from on all the cricut cartridges!  I finally settled on a bird from one of my favorite cartridges, 3 Birds on Parade.  This layout will be for some fun family pictures, although it would fit about anything!  I'm using up my last few bits of an old Bo Bunny collection.  Do you ever feel sad when you've used up the last of a favorite paper?  Paper regret-that's what I've got, now that it's gone, LOL!  Flock on over to the projects that the design team at BBTB2 has put together this week and share something fun you make.

Two music layouts

Happy Monday!  We have a music challenge at BBTB2 this week and I have two music layouts for you.  Since all my kiddos are all very musical, I take lots of pictures from their various concerts and music events.  It's always kind of loud at our house, as someone is usually practicing.  I have two layouts to share today for our BBTB2 challenge and you can find many more projects under music on the sidebar (especially the 5 music layouts on this post!).  You can play along with our musical theme over at BBTB2, and the design team has a bunch of cute projects to get you started!

Layout #1

I used the Quarter Note cartridge for most of this layout of orchestra concert pictures with Son#3.  The banner cuts on the sides that I used as photo mats are from Artbooking (cut on real dial size).

Cricut:
Quarter Note-clef, notes, titles
Artbooking-banner photo mats
Paper-CTMH solids,
brown chalk ink
stamp-My Pink Stamper set

Layout #2

This layout of Son#2 playing with the high school pep band at a basketball game was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest.  The colorful paper is actually strips of washi tape that I layered so it looked like paper.  Bold and colorful (like the pep band), which was what I was going for.

Cricut:
Artistry-title and letter font
Artbooking-live out loud, arrows and heart
Plaintain Schoolbook-circles

Butterflies

Happy Monday!  I am hosting our BBTB2 challenge this week!  I am feeling all about spring, so I selected Tiny Winged Things as our challenge theme. This could be butterflies, bees, dragonflies…whatever moves you to create! I used the sweet butterfly from my beloved Doodlecharms cartridge for this birthday card.  The background scalloped circle and circle are from the Create A Critter cartridge.  Because this card will be for a teenage girl, I used the So Social stamp set from Stampin Up for the @birthdaygirl and #awesomeness sentiments.  (It's all about the hashtags and social media with my teens and their friends, lol!)  My card is happy and bright for spring and quick to make!  Join us by linking up a tiny winged project over at BBTB2 and see what goodness the design team has for you!
